Eiffage Energia Sistemas and Iberdrola seal a long-term partnership
Eiffage Energia Sistemas and the Iberdrola Group have been partners for over 30 years and are pursuing their joint commitment for another four years. Below is a review of this contract, which accounts for 20% of the division's sales in the country and involves 1,200 people.
The adventure has already lasted for 30 years and is ongoing ! Eiffage Energía Sistemas and Iberdrola have extended their partnership for the maintenance of Iberdrola's distribution network until at least 2027. The global energy giant is a key player in the production, distribution and marketing of electricity and natural gas in Spain, where the Branch is a major subcontractor for the Iberdrola group's smart grid I-DE. Iberdrola even awarded Eiffage Energía Sistemas the "best supplier" prize at an internal ceremony in 2019, as proof that this is a relationship of mutual trust.
A partnership that has grown stronger over the years
Since the start of the contract, Eiffage Energía Sistemas’ work has involved the construction and maintenance of electricity distribution networks, including :

minor connections and low-voltage faults at I-DE supply points

maintenance of the overhead and underground electricity grid

troubleshooting and repair.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas' presence in Spain with regional offices ensures coverage of a large part of the country, guaranteeing flexibility and maneuverability. Iberdrola has thus been able to broaden the scope of its assignments, which are gradually being extended to include new projects in line with the times. In 2021, Iberdrola awarded Eiffage Energía Sistemas a five-year contract to install electric vehicle charging points. This contract covers the public and private network, on land owned by businesses. In Spain, the Branch is a pioneer in the installation of electric vehicle infrastructure.
Future prospects
“We carry out a lot of projects with the Iberdrola group," confirms José Miguel Valera, design department head at Eiffage Energía Sistemas. And our business relationship is growing! We will soon be working with Iberdrola on substation and distribution station maintenance.”.
On yet another project, Eiffage Energía Sistemas will extend its electrical infrastructure development and maintenance services to the Spanish group's wind farms and solar plants. The branch and Iberdrola have been working together on renewable energies since 1999, with the large Higueruela wind farm in the province of Albacete. Since then, Iberdrola and Eiffage Energia Sistemas have developed no fewer than 15 solar projects, totalling 1.8 GW. This is a major partnership in a country that leads the field in Europe !
