Eiffage Énergie Systèmes installs a photovoltaic power plant for Métropole Rouen Normandie

The Rouen Normandie Metropolitan Area (Métropole Rouen Normandie) launched a public tender to install a PV power plant on a metal frame above the car park next to Deux Rivières bus depot in Rouen. Artelia was appointed project manager and carried out the initial technical studies, while our experts were tasked with conducting a detailed feasibility study and installing the power plant. The energy produced will be used to power a Transdev Rouen mechanical workshop and the operator's offices.

Funded by Rouen Normandie Metropolitan Area and operated by Transdev Rouen, the PV power plant at Deux Rivières bus depot comprises 1,388 modules connected to five Huawei inverters (SUN2000 – 100 kVA). The facility has a total installed capacity of 618 kWp and is capable of producing enough energy to power a mechanical workshop and offices. The city's energy department will be in charge of selling the surplus energy produced, which is to be fed into the Enedis national grid.

Deux Rivières PV power plant is based on an integration system specially designed by our experts and adapted by supplier Schletter to meet the project's requirements. “We had to work with the civil engineering contractor to rethink the plant's design, particularly the panel mounting system. We designed a perpendicular rail system to attach them to the car park's metal frame. The rails support twin rows of panels, which are oriented east-west and slightly tilted to better withstand the wind," explained business manager Corentin Jumeaucourt.

A year passed between the signing of the contract and project completion, which took less than four months. Our team, consisting of a site manager and four installers (at peak times), delivered a PV power plant that is now considered a benchmark in the sector. This unusual facility is operational but awaiting commissioning by Enedis. It is a great collective success, combining Eiffage Énergie Systèmes' technical expertise with our Branch's commitment to energy transition.
