Space

Clemessy is involved in the construction of rocket launching facilities and the integration and testing of satellites and onboard equipment.

Working within the framework of the European Space Programme since 1967, we provide services from engineering through to maintenance and operation as well as carrying out work in the field of utilities, test facilities and processes with offerings and expertise in electrical, IT, mechanical, HVAC and hydraulic engineering.

Working alongside space vehicle manufacturers and OEMs

Clemessy's teams support players in the space sector both during the validation and qualification of space vehicles as well as working on the assembly line and optimizing it.

Our teams meet customers' expectations in the field of manufacturing, integration and testing of satellites, spacecraft and launchers.

Proven expertise for launch pads and the ground segment

Clemessy supports the space adventure in French Guiana and has numerous references in this field. The teams took part in the construction of the launch pad and ELA1, ELA2, ELA3, ELA4 and ELS (Soyuz) and ELV (Vega) launch facilities.

Clemessy provides its customers with suitable, tailor-made solutions for:

  • launcher integration, fueling and takeoff
  • monitoring and supervision of the launch pad
  • optimization of the launcher process
  • site security and protection
  • management of the electrical infrastructure
  • mechanical equipment
  • control centres and ground stations

Clemessy was chosen by CNES, Airbus Safran Launchers and the ESA to develop the new Ariane 6 launcher and associated infrastructure in Europe and French Guiana and it will therefore carry out the following for the ELA4 Launch Pad (No. 4 launch facility) :

  • the electrical systems for power generation, electrical distribution and lightning protection
  • the security and protection systems
  • the monitoring and control of the services
  • the development of the monitoring & control systems for the launcher stages on the production sites in Europe as well as the operational test bench in French Guiana.

As part of our investments in the field of the factory 4.0 and connected objects, Airbus Safran Launchers also entrusted Clemessy with designing and building the automated workshop for the production of nozzles for the Ariane 6 and Vega solid rocket motors.

Focus on EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) satellite Validation

Highly specialized in SCOE (Special Check Out Equipment), the Clemessy Switzerland subsidiary [lien vers le site de Clemessy Switzerland] provides tailor-made simulators for satellites. These simulators are designed to test and confirm on the ground, reproducing the space environment the satellite will be facing and that it is ready to operate. In line with CE standards, European Space Standards (ECSS) standards and clean rooms, SCOE meets the cost challenges and requirements of players in the space sector.
